Our Beliefs - Full Text

We believe God is Creator of the universe and exists as Trinity in three persons – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three have eternally existed together and are co-equal with each other.

We believe Jesus is the only Son of God. He became human through the virgin birth and lived a sinless life that ended with His dying on the cross for the salvation of all people. Three days later, He rose from the dead to display His power over sin and death. Then He ascended into heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father to intercede on our behalf. He will return to earth one day as King. All who put their faith in Him will receive eternal life.

We believe the Holy Spirit is active in our world bringing people awareness of their need for God. He empowers Christians for holy living and spiritual understanding. Each Christian is designed to reach a point in their journey with God where the Spirit fills their heart completely and they surrender their life to His control – we call this “heart purity” or “entire sanctification.”

We believe human beings are made in the image of God to reflect his glory and holy character. However, through the Fall we are scarred by sin. This sin has separated us from God.

We believe salvation is a gift from God. Our salvation cannot be earned through good works or self-improvement. Our only release from the penalty of sin is faith in Jesus Christ. Thus, salvation is by grace through faith alone.

We believe the Bible is God’s Holy Word and revelation of Himself. It was written by human authors under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and thus is trustworthy. It contains all truth necessary for our faith and Christian living.

We believe the Church is the Body of Christ. We gather to celebrate who God is, reflect on His goodness to us, and respond to His Word in order that we might go out and proclaim the Good News to the world in a way that is culturally relevant and applicable to everyday life.

We believe Christ will return to complete His work of redemption in the world, and judge the living and the dead.

This statement of belief gives a summary of the doctrinal commitments of this community. However, we do not believe the best way to know what we believe is to read it off a page. Our conviction is that the best way for you to determine what we believe is to watch us – or better yet, join us and discover it from the inside.
