All Events

In Luke 24, the Bible tells this story…
Late in the day that changed history, two figures trudged the road from Jerusalem to the small town of Emmaus. They recalled their hopes that Jesus was the Messiah, the one who would free their people and establish lasting peace and justice. But his crucifixion two days ago dashed those hopes against the stone slab that sealed his tomb. As they walked farther, they met a stranger who joined their conversation. He spoke about the Messiah with such depth and warmth that when they arrived at Emmaus they invited him to supper. It was during the meal they suddenly realized this was no stranger. It was Jesus! He was the Messiah.
